Sustainable Commerce is led by Seth Harry, AIA, principal and owner of Seth Harry & Associates, Inc., Architects and Planners. Mr. Harry has thirty years of in-depth experience in the planning and design of comprehensive mixed-use and urban infill developments, and community revitalization plans and strategies, for public and private clients, both domestically and abroad. Mr. Harry is regarded as an expert in retail planning and urban design, and is a leading proponent of the principles and ideals of sustainable development.  He has written and lectured widely on the subject, including authoring the Sustainable Commerce Module for the Smart Code, and is a contributing author to “Sustainable and Resilient Communities, by Steve Coyle, and published by Wiley and Sons. After working with the late developer James Rouse on a variety of urban infill mixed-use projects, Mr. Harry formed his own firm in 1992, which has subsequently focused on applying many of the lessons learned from those projects to smaller, “main street” communities, urban villages, Traditional Neighborhood Developments (TNDs), and sustainable communities, including transit-oriented developments, of which the firm has many built examples.
